Services We Offer
Physical Therapy
Therapy at INTEGRATIVE Manual Therapy and Wellness consists of a thorough evaluation to determine each patient's underlying cause or causes of dysfunction. A comprehensive systems approach is then utilized to address dysfunction in the musculoskeletal and nervous systems, joints, connective tissue, gastrointestinal, urogenital, and vascular/lymph systems. Our manual therapies include osteopathic manipulation, muscle energy technique, strain-counterstrain and advanced strain-counterstrain, craniosacral therapy, neural tension techniques, myofascial and neurofascial release, and visceral mobilization. With this detailed approach we are able to treat the underlying dysfunction--not just symptoms--and treat each individual as a unique structural, functional whole. INTEGRATIVE therapists may also complement your therapy with the application of kinesiotape/Rocktape or offer custom orthotic fabrication to help support your neuromuscular and biomechanical goals. Therapists will perform a systems review, use appropriate examination tools, and consider quality-of-life instruments such as the patient's physical activity history, current exercise regimen, nutritional intake, sleep, sleep patterns, work activities, and stress level in order to make their assessment and address your particular needs.
The movement techniques utilized at INTEGRATIVE manual therapy and wellness are anatomy specific and enhance daily function whether you are an athlete or someone who works hard at a desk all day. We incorporate such techniques as Pilates on the mat and equipment Pilates for rehabilitaiton as well as for fitness in both individual and small group sessions. We also offer Postural Restoration techniques, physio ball, strengthening, running/gait analysis, bike fitting, and Yamuna body rolling. The calming, balancing practice of yoga may be employed to help restore your flexibility as well as increase your strength. Each patient/client's program is designed specifically to help them reach their wellness, fitness, and rehabilitation goals and your progress can be tracked and supported by your whole team. Physical therapy and the combination of Pilates and other postural re-education has tremendous potential to reverse the trend of faulty body mechanics by helping establish new movement patterns, postural awareness, and age-appropriate fitness and wellness programs for life.
Women's Healthcare
Let the therapists at INTEGRATIVE help address your women's healthcare needs with compassion and experience. Whether you are a woman undergoing breast cancer treatment or are pregnant or just gave birth we are here to help.
Did you know that 50% of women will experience urinary incontinence at some point in their life? While it can be normal to change as we age or with childbirth, it is treatable. Other forms of pelvic floor dysfunction can include pain, urinary urgency or frequency, fecal incontinence, and/or sexual dysfunction. If you have experienced any of these symptoms, contact us so our Women's Health Physical Therapists can help you on your road to wellness. We offer private, one-on-one treatments and are highly specialized to evaluate and address your needs.
Perhaps you or someone you know has undergone breast cancer treatment—whether its surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, or hormone therapy—and find that they don’t quite feel “normal” again, and in fact don’t even know what normal is supposed to feel like. Continued neck, shoulder or arm pain, weakness, swelling, or numbness are indications that you may need therapy. INTEGRATIVE's therapists are trained to evaluate and assess each individual as a unique human being with unique problems. We can work with you to get you moving again, to “put you back together”, by using our hands to work on tight muscles and joints, our heads to teach you how to help yourself, and our hearts to provide compassionate care.
Pilates
Let INTEGRATIVE's highly trained and educated therapists incorporate the effective practice of Pilates in your therapy to increase strength, stamina, stability, decrease pain, and improve your posture. Pilates provides the ideal environment for neuromuscular re-education by providing necessary modifications for movement sequences with optimal breathing so it can help bring energy and ease into everyday activities as well as into all athletic endeavors. Pain can be reduced, and range of motion and strength can be increased by learning new breathing patterns, changing exercises from assistive to resistive, and finally reintroducing the patient to functional activities of everyday life and sports specific actions in more efficient postures. At INTEGRATIVE individualized programs, specific feedback, and precise queuing from skilled practitioners will help educate you and help you carry your new postural awareness and strengths into your daily lives.
Massage Therapy
Our massage therapists offer Swedish or relaxation massage, deep tissue, craniosacral, hot stone massage, aromatherapy, Jin Shin Do or acupressure, myofascial release, and prenatal massage just to name a few… and they continue to expand their repertoire of massage therapy techniques. Our massage therapists can work collaboratively with your physcial therapist to provide you with the appropriate soft tissue techniques to complement your care, addressing your specific and unique needs, to help you achieve your welnness goals.
Postural Re-Education
At INTEGRATIVE we use a variety of tools and methods to address postural imbalances and faulty patterns. From evaluating your work station to your car, from your gym routine to your bike we can help you achieve a more efficient posture and start you on your road to wellness. In addition to our Polestar certified Pilates therapists and instructors we are also studying and applying the methods of The Postural Restoration Institute which is devoted to "the science of postural adaptations, asymmetrical patterns, and the influence of polyarticular chains of muscles on the human body." This approach focuses on identifying and correcting common postural patterns found in the body. All humans have asymmetry in their anatomy that influences the way they stand, sit, walk, and even breathe. This asymmetry, along with daily postures and habits, contributes neuromuscular patterns that negatively influence muscle function, structural alignment, and can also cause pain. By addressing the underlying postural patterns we can treat the root of the patient's current dysfunction but also teach them how to prevent future injury. Benefits of treatment with Postural Restoration include: decrease pain and irritation; eliminate muscle tension or increased tone; increase mobility and flexibility; improve spinal stabilization and core strength; improve movement patterns and motor control; improve athletic and movement efficiency; improve INTEGRATIVE system function; improve the ability to rest and sleep at night.
Let our therapists help you find your most efficient posture to maximize your function and decrease your pain.

Orthotics
Providing optimal arch support can help treat and prevent heel spurs, plantar fasciitis, subcalcaneal bursitis, Morton's neuroma, metatarsalgia, bunions, the shearing forces that cause calluses and corns, and more. Orthotics can be a critical component of healthy ankle, knee, hip, and pelvis alignment. "Off the shelf" orthotic devices can be helpful but we often need custom attention. In order to be truly custom, orthotic devices must conform to the actual shape of the foot, have full contact with the foot (no spaces) for functional support with flexibility, be calibrated correctly for force and flexibility (based on body weight etc.), be individual to each foot (left and right), and provide subtalar and neutral calcaneal stabilization. Let our therapists create truly custom orthotics for you to reduce your symptoms and promote proper biomechanical alignment up the kinetic chain.
"I've been amazed at how much of a difference I feel in everyday activities thanks to Krysia, Catherine, and Kara! Not only has a portion of my spine been straightened out [which had a scoliosis] and given much more mobility, Pilates has helped me strengthen my core muscles. Now, in my 3rd pregnancy, I feel better than I did with my first pregnancy and know my recovery will be speedy thanks to the caring hands of these professionals. Thank you, thank you, for the amazing work you all are doing to improve quality of life for busy mamas like me!"

"I was referred to Krysia by my midwife over 10 years ago. She skillfully resolved my sciatic pain and it hasn't bothered me since. My family and I have seen her on several occasions since then and her knowledge and growing abilities have kept us all in optimal health. Her expertise is priceless!"

"When Krysia first worked on me, I couldn't pull my wallet out of my rear pocket and could barely raise my right arm above shoulder level. I thought my life as an athlete was going to be severely limited and was resigned to hiking with pain due to a bunion. Your confidence that the problems could be fixed and your professionalism in treating me have both been an inspiration to me. Now I'm back to doing handstand pushups! Manual therapy works!"

HUGE THANKS to Krysia, Catherine, and the rest of the staff at IMTW for the amazing work they've done to help rehabilitate my back over the last year. Thanks to them I had a vacation that was not only pain-free, but filled with wonderful (long and steep!) hikes in all my favorite places. If you had asked me a year ago, I would have said this was impossible!

Krysia, thank you for helping Ruth sleep better! In 19 months, she's never slept this well!
